Nice to meet you!  I’m Lauren.

I’m a recipe developer, food and product photographer, abstract painter, and writer

a serial creative who can’t pick one lane…

I have developed and photographed thousands of recipes for various food blogs, including my own and others, as well as hundreds of global brands. My first pre-plant-based cookbook was published in 2020 by Page Street Publishing.

After going vegan in 2021, I sold my last remaining publication, which was decidedly not vegan, and never looked back.

Now, between consulting for and creating content for sustainably-minded brands in the plant-based space through, LL Studio, and developing my own recipes without the influence of SEO, I’ve once again found my way home to the kitchen.

Here, you’ll find all the things I’m passionate about—eat plants. where you can dig into modern plant-based recipes that are heavily influenced by my Appalachian roots and love of global flavors. In the salubrious column, you can find reflections on life, art, and culture, and the list. is a place for all my favorite things.

When I’m not dreaming up new business ventures with my husband Alex (please don’t ask me how many domains we own), you can find me painting abstract art, dabbling in street photography, and backpacking and skiing in the beautiful PNW that I call home—currently, that is. I’ve been known to pack up and move at a moment’s notice, so who knows what’s next.

Come along for the ride?
